iPad Training for Rehabilitation Professionals

iPad Learning Series


Description:

iPad Learning SeriesSpecifically for the rehabilitation professional, this training will emphasize the use of the iPad for individuals of all ages with a variety of physical and cognitive challenges. In addition to hands-on experience with a variety of apps, participants will receive a list of 200+ recommended apps organized by category. All participants will have access to an iPad during this session.

Series Description:
Since its release, the iPad has been an important tool in achieving educational success for all students, especially students with disabilities. Its accessibility, reasonable cost, and plethora of available applications make it an incredible resource for both students and teachers. This series will address the basics of operating an iPad as well as how to:

  • Teach with an iPad.
  • Manage iPads in a school.
  • Use applications (apps) for specific disabilities and activities.

Workshops are limited to 25 registrants.


Who Should Attend:

Vocational Rehabilitation professionals, employment staff, direct service providers, caregivers, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, medical professionals, special educators, and others are encouraged to attend.

Nicole FinchNicole Finch, MS received her master’s degree in occupational therapy from UNH in May 2011. As part of her graduate assistantship, Nicole worked with Therese Willkomm to provideAT training to individuals, rehabilitation professionals, and educators. She developed and provided trainings on iPad use for individuals of allabilities to professors and students within the UNH education department, as well as the IOD, Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, and East Kingston Elementary School.
